SCDOT to temporarily close and detour part of Barrett Road in York County for bridge replacement

Columbia, S.C. (June 20, 2025) — The South Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close and detour part of Barrett Road between Sherwood Road and Soaring Eagle Road in York County for a bridge replacement project beginning June 29. This closure is expected to last until the end of October 2025.

As part of this closure, a detour route will be placed using Soaring Eagle Road, Guinn Street, North Main Street and Barrett Road. A map of the detour can be found below. Please note that Barrett Road will be open to local traffic only, except at the work zone.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near the work zone.
