Mary Dober Named Fort Mill High School Athlete of the Week

Fort Mill, S.C. – Fort Mill High School senior Mary Dober has been named Athlete of the Week, recognizing her standout performance as captain of the Yellow Jackets softball team.

Dober led by example during a strong two-game stretch, batting .500 while going 3-for-6 at the plate. Her stat line included two RBIs, two singles, a double, and two stolen bases, contributing significantly to her team’s recent success.

A senior leader both on and off the field, Dober plays catcher and has been instrumental in guiding the team through the season. Her leadership and performance continue to set a high standard for the Yellow Jackets.

The Athlete of the Week award is sponsored by the Fort Mill Athletic Booster Club and Super Chix, highlighting student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in their sport and leadership within the school community.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
