Cat of the Week:

  • This handsome rolly polly is Hurley.
  • We say this so often…. They all have their story and Hurley has his…
  • Hurley came from Animal Control where he was involved in a hoarding situation.
  • He doesn’t show the normal signs.
    • He is portly, handsome and apparently well cared for.
  • He is super handsome and gets along with other feline friends.
  • We estimate his age to be 1 year and 6 months old.
  • He is neutered, vaccinated, tested and micro chipped.
  • He is ISO a home where he can have attention and love lavished on him.
  • Hurley is a talkative sweet boy who loves attention and likes to look you in the eyes and give you the cutest “meow.”
  • What more could you ask for in a furry companion.

Dog of the Week: 

  • This handsome boy is Poncho.
  • Poncho came to the HSYC as a stray!!! Unfortunately, no one came forward for this sweet dog.
  • In the short time he’s been with us, he has proven to be an awesome pooch.
  • Just look into his sweet eyes and you’ll see the unconditional LOVE flowing.
  • We estimate Poncho to be a rottie mix.
  • He is estimate to be around 1 year old. Just a kid waiting for his true FURever person, couple or family.
  • He’s fairly new to rescue life but he is showing himself so very well.
  • He does well with other pooch friends.
  • He is ISO his FURever home where he is allowed to have fun, play hard and enjoy snuggles with his hoomans.
    • Poncho loves his walks and time with his people.
  • This handsome dude is neuter, tested, vaccinated and micro chipped READY to JOIN YOUR FAMILY.
  • He’d love to take a training class with his new family. He’d do great. He’S so happy to please.

Thomas Hyslip

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
