Charlotte Ranked 5th Most Financially Distressed City in USA

As inflation continues to make it harder for Americans to manage payments on loans and lines of credit, WalletHub has released its latest report on the Cities with the Most People in Financial Distress. This report highlights where financial struggles are most severe across the country.

WalletHub analyzed the 100 largest cities without data limitations using nine key metrics. These include factors such as the average credit score, the change in bankruptcy filings between December 2023 and December 2024, and the share of people with accounts in distress.

Charlotte, NC is ranked the city with the 5th most people in financial distress.  As part of the ranking, Charlotte is the leading city with People with accounts in distress and average number of accounts in distress.

Thomas Hyslip

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching.
