Fort Mill High School’s Jermier Nelson has been recognized as the Athlete of the Week after an impressive performance on the basketball court. Nelson, a freshman, set a career high for the second consecutive game, scoring 28 points in his latest outing. His previous game saw him score 25 points, showcasing his consistent performance and talent.
The award was sponsored by the Fort Mill High School Athletic Booster Club, Jersey Mike’s Subs, and Fort Mill SuperChix. Congratulations to Jermier for his hard work and dedication on the court!

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
