Elliott, Lux, Weidner, Phillips of Fort Mill named to MTSU Fall 2024 Dean’s List

MURFREESBORO, TN (January 20, 2025) — Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) has announced that 6,478 undergraduate students earned a spot on the Fall 2024 Dean’s List, a prestigious recognition of academic excellence.

To qualify for this honor, students must achieve a semester grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while completing at least 12 semester hours. Among the distinguished scholars are several students from Fort Mill, South Carolina:

  • Charlie Elliott
  • Austin Lux
  • Aidan Weidner
  • Roman Phillips

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
