Humane Society of York County – Pets of the Week

 Cat of the Week:

  • This handsome SENIOR tabby is Maxim – we’ve talked about him before!
  • HSYC pulled Maxim from Animal Control 606 days ago!
  • Upon doing INTAKE: He unfortunately tested FIV+ (an auto immune deficiency).

o  Some details about FIV+ felines:

  • FIV kitter kats can live with other cats who don’t have FIV as long as they get along and don’t fight, causing bite wounds
  • FIV cannot be transmitted to humans or other non-feline animals.
  • He is Mr. adventurous and so very handsome with intense eyes that tell you exactly what he needs!
  • Maxim loves to be free inside the rescue scoping out all the fun to be had!
  • We estimate Maxim to be close to 10 years YOUNG!

o  Let’s make this year Maxim’s year to find his TRUE FURever.

  • He enjoys playing, running and just being out of his cage.
  • Maxim is an active boy & would be a great addition to any family adding love, activity, entertainment and affection to your world.
  • Like all our pets, Maxim is neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped and tested. Ready to meet YOU!
  • If Maxim’s story grabs at your heartstring, call today to make an appointment 803-802-0902.

Dog of the Week:

  • This amazingly handsome boy is Rueben.
  • Rueben is fairly new to the rescue coming in as an owner surrender just 4 weeks ago!
  • What we’ve learned in the time Rueben has been with us is:

o  He is just over a year old.

o  He is just a baby needing his energy expelled.

o  He loves his walks

o  He is initially hesitant but given time he really wants to LOVE and BE LOVED.

o  We are confident that with the proper introduction, he’ll do good with other dogs.

  • He is super smart and would love to take training with his new FURever person.

o  He so wants to please!

  • He’s a perfect size – a true Medium about 35-40 lbs.
  • If this sweet boy melts your heart, please call to make appointment TODAY 803-802-0902!
  • Our Adoption parameters can be found on our website www.humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org.
