There will be countless tributes to President Jimmy Carter – and deservedly so – because he devoted three quarters of a century to serving his country – in the Navy, the state senate, the governor’s office, the White House and as a humanitarian.
But it was in the face of illness and ultimately death that President Carter taught us the most. His faith in God and love of Rosalynn remained the foundation of his life – and an example for each of us about what matters the most.
During this difficult time, Peggy and I join the people of South Carolina in giving thanks for the life of President Carter and send prayers to the Carter family.
– Governor Henry McMaster
