Riverside Natural Foods Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of several of its MadeGood granola bars due to the potential presence of metal fragments, posing a serious safety hazard to consumers. The recall, announced through a notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), affects products sold across the United States and Canada, including in South Carolina.
The recall involves granola bars produced between January and November 2024. Impacted flavors include Chocolate Chip, Mixed Berry, Strawberry, Cookies & Crème, Chocolate Banana, Chocolate Drizzled Birthday Cake, Chocolate Drizzled Cookie Crumble, and Chocolate Drizzled Vanilla. A complete list of specific products, including Universal Product Codes (UPC) and Best-By Dates, is available on the FDA’s website.
Although no injuries or incidents have been reported, Riverside Natural Foods is conducting the voluntary recall with the knowledge of regulatory authorities and working closely with retailers for the removal of recalled products from store shelves.
Consumers who have purchased the affected granola bars are advised to stop using them immediately and return them to the point of purchase for a refund. For more information, including images of the recalled products, visit FDA.gov.
