FORT MILL, SC —The Fort Mill School District is excited to announce the selection of Jennifer Hendershot as the Sugar Creek Elementary School Principal, effective January 2025. Ms. Hendershot replaces Michelle Gritz, who will be leading the new Flint Hill Elementary School, opening in the fall of 2025.
Ms. Hendershot has served as Assistant Principal at Fort Mill Elementary School since 2020. Prior to her leadership role, Ms. Hendershot taught 13 years in New Jersey and four years at Fort Mill Elementary School in first, second, and third grades.
Ms. Hendershot holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stockton University, an Elementary Teaching Certification from Georgian Court University, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University.
“I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to serve as the new principal of Sugar Creek Elementary,” said Ms. Hendershot. “A midyear change in administration is a unique opportunity for me to truly learn and embrace the important traditions already in place at SCES. I am looking forward to supporting such an incredible community of teachers, staff, students, and families. Sugar Creek has a wonderful reputation for being a strong school community and I couldn’t be more excited to be a shark!”
