Tega Cay, SC – Local authorities have closed a section of New Gray Rock Road as a precautionary measure due to rising water levels at Catawba Park. The affected area spans from the intersection of New Gray Rock and Bluebell Way to the intersection of New Gray Rock and Celandine Way.
The decision to close the road comes after continuous rainfall raised concerns about potential flooding, particularly around Catawba Park. While no significant damage has been reported, authorities are taking these preventative measures to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians.
Drivers can detour around the closed section by using Celandine Way and Bluebell Way, which provide an alternate route to avoid the affected area of New Gray Rock Road.
Emergency services and public works teams are closely monitoring the situation and will reopen the road once it is deemed safe for travel. Residents and commuters are encouraged to stay informed through local updates for further instructions and road status.
Thank you for your cooperation as the city works to maintain safety during this period of high water levels.
