A recall has been issued for Skylark Meats’ Rock River Cattle Co. Smokey Hibachi Skirt Steaks due to undeclared allergen ingredients, specifically soy, wheat, and sesame, which were not listed on the product labels as required by the Food and Drug Administration. This recall affects select Costco locations in the southeastern United States, including stores in North Carolina and South Carolina, as well as Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
The pre-seasoned steaks, which have a Sell By date of September 13, were sold exclusively at Costco. Skylark Meats has reached out to impacted customers, noting that while no adverse reactions have been reported, the undeclared allergens pose a potential risk to consumers with sensitivities or allergies to soy, wheat, or sesame.
Customers in North and South Carolina who have purchased these steaks and have a sensitivity to the undeclared ingredients are advised to return the product to their local Costco store for a full refund. For further questions regarding the recall, customers can contact the American Foods Group hotline at 1-800-829-2838 or via email at [email protected].
Skylark Meats has confirmed that no other Rock River Cattle Co. products or flavors are impacted by this recall and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
