FORT MILL, SC — The Fort Mill School District will host more than 2200 teachers and staff members at Catawba Ridge High School for the Engaged 2 Learn convocation on Friday, August 2 at 8 AM.
The conference will kick off the new year with the announcement and celebration of the 2024-2025 District Teacher of the Year and Support Staff of the Year.
Employees will also hear from bestselling author and entrepreneur Kim Hodous, “The Happiness Speaker.”

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
