Obituary for Janet Clark
Janet Clark Clippard, age 81, of Tega Cay, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.
Born in Siler City, North Carolina, Janet was a daughter to the late Wade Clark and Mazelle Phillips Clark. She was a 1960 graduate of Fort Mill High School and had been a member of the Basketball Team. Janet represented Fort Mill as a Carousel Queen in the 1959 Charlotte Carousel Christmas Parade. She retired from Lucent Technologies where she was an event planner. Janet was a member of Tega Cay Baptist Church.
Janet is survived by her husband, Lynn Clippard of Tega Cay, S.C. and his son, Carlton Clippard of Belmont, N.C.; her sisters, Linda Jeffords of Rock Hill, S.C. and Becky Dark of Siler City, N.C.; her sister-in-law, Jackie McDonald; her brother-in-law, Kim Cain; and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
