Tega Cay Teen, Megan Cairns Gallops to Victory at Southeast Regionals, Eyes National Glory

In an impressive display of skill and poise, Megan Cairns, a junior at Fort Mill High School, clinched first place in her ranch ride at the Southeast Regionals Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) competition held in Tennessee last weekend. This victory has secured her a coveted spot at the Nationals in Texas this June, marking a significant milestone in her burgeoning equestrian career.

Riding for the Flamekissed Equestrian IEA Team based out of Georgia, Cairns has demonstrated not only her exceptional talent but also her dedication to the sport. The Southeast Regionals, known for attracting some of the most skilled young riders from across the region, provided a competitive backdrop for Cairns to showcase her abilities.

Cairns’ journey to the nationals is not just a personal triumph but also an inspiration to her peers and young riders everywhere. It highlights the importance of dedication, hard work, and the support of a community in achieving one’s dreams.

As the Nationals approach, Cairns is focused on preparing for the challenges that lie ahead. With the support of her team, family, and the Tega Cay community, she is poised to make a significant impact on the national stage.

The Interscholastic Equestrian Association provides a platform for middle and high school students to compete in equestrian sports across the country. Cairns’ participation and success in the IEA underscore the opportunities the organization offers to young equestrians to develop their skills in a competitive and supportive environment.
