After a seven-year hiatus, McDonald’s is set to reintroduce a variant of the much-missed Snack Wrap. Renamed the McCrispy Wrap, this updated offering is scheduled to hit all markets by the end of 2025. This move is part of McDonald’s larger strategy to expand its chicken products, responding to the growing consumer preference for chicken over burgers in recent times.
The Snack Wrap’s comeback is a response to years of fervent customer demand, evidenced by numerous online petitions. The original version was phased out after franchisees reported that its preparation was time-consuming and hampered efficiency. Despite its official discontinuation, some outlets continued to offer the Snack Wrap until 2020, after which it completely disappeared from menus.
Last year, McDonald’s sparked rumors of the Snack Wrap’s revival with a cryptic tweet, leading to widespread speculation. However, the company quickly dismissed these rumors, stating that there were no plans for its return at that time.
Echoing the periodic returns of the McRib, the reintroduction of a wrap resembling the Snack Wrap seemed almost destined. While the McCrispy Wrap will not be identical to the original, it represents a nod to its legacy and a response to long-standing customer desires.
