Annual Lighting of the Tree Jumpstarts the Holidays in Tega Cay

Tega Cay, SC – Celebrate the arrival of the most wonderful time of the year in the beautiful peninsula City of Tega Cay on Thursday, December 7th with the Lighting of the Tree followed by a Meet-and-Greet with Santa, Caroling and an Ugly Christmas Sweater contest!

Beginning at 6 pm Join Mayor Chris Gray and City Council as they light the Town Tree with Santa. Enjoy the sounds of the holiday with Tega Cay Community Choir.  Hot Cocoa provided by SC Shore Club and served by the Boy Scout Troop 250.

Following the tree lighting meet us in the Glennon Center Ballroom where children of all ages will enjoy Caroling with the Tega Cay Music Association, munch on an assortment of holiday goodies, and cocoa served by the Tega Cay Lions Club and capture the special evening with a picture taken with Santa. New this year everyone in the family can join in and compete in the Ugly Sweater Contest!  

A cash bar with adult beverages will be available for purchase.

Thomas Hyslip

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
