Carowinds Parent Company Joins Six Flags in $8 Billion Merger, Charlotte Headquarters Established

Charlotte, NC (Tega Cay Sun) – Cedar Fair, the parent company of Carowinds, and Six Flags are joining forces to form a new $8 billion company, which will establish its headquarters in Charlotte.

This merger announcement, made on Thursday, brings together two industry giants, enabling them to manage a collective portfolio of 27 amusement parks, 15 water parks, and nine resorts spanning the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
