Gold Hill Middle School Earns National Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School Designation

Tega Cay, SC (Tega Cay Sun) – Gold Hill Middle School is the latest area school to be recognized as a National Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School. The Lighthouse School program recognizes schools that demonstrate excellence in student achievement and school culture.

To be eligible for the Lighthouse School designation, schools must first earn the National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence award. This award is given to schools that have high academic achievement and are making significant progress toward closing achievement gaps.

Lighthouse Schools go one step further by sharing their best practices with other schools to help them improve. They also serve as models for other schools to follow.

Gold Hill Middle School will be honored at a ceremony in Orlando, Florida on December 1, 2023.

Other Area Schools Recognized

Gold Hill Middle School joins Doby’s Bridge Elementary School in Fort Mill and Cherry Park Elementary School of Language Immersion in Rock Hill as Lighthouse School winners.
