York, SC (Tega Cay Sun) – Founded in 1983, the York Summerfest is set to commemorate its 40th year with an exhilarating lineup of events and attractions. This year’s celebration promises a rich assortment of entertainment spread across three unique stages. Car enthusiasts can look forward to a grand car and motorcycle display, while arts & crafts vendors will showcase their talents and creations.
For the little ones, the kids’ zone is packed with thrilling activities. DJ Brown Sound will be spinning tunes, and kids can enjoy attractions ranging from bounce houses to axe throwing and archery. And for the adventurous at heart, mechanical bull rides await!
To make your journey to the festival smoother there are complimentary shuttle rides from York Middle School and York Comprehensive High School to the festival.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
