Charlotte, NC (Tega Cay Sun) – After being closed for almost six weeks due to a support beam crack, Carowinds’ Fury 325 rollercoaster is back in action.
The ride underwent repairs, testing, and an evaluation by the North Carolina Department of Labor’s Elevator and Amusement Device Bureau before officially reopening on Thursday. Bolliger & Mabillard, the manufacturer of the ride, installed a new steel column, paving the way for the rollercoaster’s return.
Over 500 complete cycles of operation were carried out along with a range of tests and inspections to ensure its safety and stability. The North Carolina Department of Labor conducted the final inspection on Thursday, giving the green light for the ride’s resumption.
