The Fort Mill School Board increased taxes by 34 mills when they passed their budget of $217,839,435. Only school board member Joe Helms voted against the tax increase.
One mill is 0.1 cents or one thousandth of a dollar. Thus, a mill rate of 1 means you pay $1 in taxes for every $1,000 of your property’s assessed value.
