At the regularly scheduled meeting on May 23, the Fort Mill School Board voted to approve the 2024–2025 Modified Year Round Academic Calendar.
The district administration presented two options to the board for consideration.
The option chosen includes:
- A later start date of August 8 which allows students and teachers to return to school in August instead of July.
- Balanced 90 day semesters with exams before winter break.
- Breaks for students and teachers spaced throughout the calendar.
- The school year ends prior to Memorial Day allowing for a longer summer before the 2025-2026 school year.
This option meets the district’s academic goals along with addressing the majority of the concerns we received in our survey feedback.
As a reminder, this calendar is for the 2024–2025 school year. This does not impact the upcoming 2023–2024 school year.
