Guillermo Horacio Bravo, 84 years, of Tega Cay, SC and formerly of Michigan and Florida, entered into rest on Saturday, July 1, 2023. He was born March 15, 1939, in Cali, Colombia, son of the late Teofilo and Adela Bravo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Julio, Blanca, Isabel, Rosaura, Zoila, Calixto, Victor, Benjamin, and Pedro.
Guillermo spent 33 years at Chrysler Corporation as a “stock chaser”, driving a hi-lo to bring parts to the assembly line.
Always smiling and joking, Guillermo lived life to the fullest. He always had a one-liner to get people laughing, right up until the very end. He was extremely adventurous. Perhaps his most memorable adventure was his 5-month trek from Cali, Colombia to Detroit Michigan at 21 years with his life-long friend, Felix.
Most important to him was spending time with family and friends. He loved to entertain. Hosting parties where there was always plenty to drink and some to eat, lots of music and dancing. Guillermo was always up for a game night. He especially enjoyed playing poker.
Staying fit was also a priority for Guillermo. He would walk or ride his bike and would retire to the sauna, steam room or hot tub.
Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nora; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Silvio Savo of Tega Cay, SC.; son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Leigh-Ann Bravo of Northville, Michigan; five grandchildren, Maurizio Savo, Lorenzo Savo, Emelia Bravo, Lauren Bravo and Daniel Bravo; and siblings Juan and Ana.
A Celebration of life service will be held by the family at Palmetto Funeral Group in Fort Mill, SC on Monday, July 3 at 3:00 p.m. It will be livestreamed.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the assisted living and hospice nurses, CNAs, physicians and staff for their exceptional care and kindness.
