Fort Mill, SC — The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets lost their home opener 23-7 to Blythewood High School. Both teams played tough defense in the first half with Blythewood up 14-7 going into the half. The defensive battle continued into the second half with the Bengals tacking on a field goal and a touchdown with a missed PAT. Fort Mill travels to Lancaster this week for a Friday game. The team’s first region game is the following Friday against cross town rival Catawba Ridge.
The Yellow Jacket’s Tanner May reels in a deep pass during the team’s sole touchdown drive of the night. Fort Mill would get their lone touchdown of the night two plays later.
Tanner Mays returns a Blythewood punt for a short yardage gain. The Yellow Jacket’s sustained a brief drive before giving the ball back to the Bengals.
Fort Mill’s offense had a tough night against Blythewood. A pack of Blythewood Bengals hunt down Fort Mill’s Jeremiah Mcneil as he tries to gain ground on the edge.
Fort Mill’s Henry Crocker evades the block to force the Blythewood QB out of the pocket for an eventual sack. The Yellow Jacket’s are on the road this week against Lancaster.
The Yellow Jacket’s Joseph Duey (7) and Lloyd Shope (9) take down the Blythewood quaterback for a loss early in the first quarter. The team was forced to punt after going 3 and out.
