Hickory Hollow Jerky Recalls Ready-To-Eat Jerky Sold in North Carolina and Online Due to Lack of Federal Inspection

Hickory Hollow Jerky, a company based in Eufaula, Alabama, is recalling approximately 6,229 pounds of ready-to-eat jerky products that were produced without federal inspection. The recall, announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), affects products sold in multiple states, including North Carolina, and through internet sales.

The recall involves beef jerky and bacon jerky products produced on various dates between January 19, 2024, and August 21, 2024. The issue was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance, which revealed that the company continued to produce and label these products with the USDA mark of inspection after voluntarily halting FSIS inspection activities.

These products, labeled with establishment number “EST. NO. 34550” inside the USDA mark of inspection, were shipped to retail locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and were also sold online.
