The Nation Ford Falcons improve to 1-1 on the season with a road win over York High School. Like other district matchups, the Friday night game was postponed to Saturday when a thunderstorm swept through the area. Final score was 14-12. The Falcon’s are at home this week against River Bluff.
Catawba Ridge Copperheads won their rain delayed game against East Gaston Warriors in dominant fashion. The final was 52-19 in favor of the Copperheads (1-1). Their next matchup is this Friday at Chester H.S.
Fort Mill High School’s home opener was also cancelled due to the inclement weather. It will not be rescheduled. The Yellow Jackets host Blythewood on September 6.

Despite the York quarterback’s stiff arm against Nation Ford’s #90 midway through the fourth quarter, he was still stopped for a sack. In the fourth quarter York would close the gap and come within two points of tying the game. A two point conversion came up short.
