Fort Mill Town Council Tackles Website Redesign, Google Fiber, and 2025 Budget Calendar at May 13, 2024 Meeting

On May 13, 2024, the Fort Mill Town Council held a regular Town Council Meeting.  The meeting began with a pledge of allegiance and invocation. Then the council members approved the minutes from the previous meetings.  The major topics discussed were:

  • Presentation of Employee of the Quarter Award to Zack Driggers: Zack Driggers was recognized for his outstanding service to the town. He has been with the town for over 10 years and has consistently gone above and beyond his job duties.
  • Town website redesign and Communications update: The council is considering a redesign of the town website. The website gets around 27,28 individual users per year and has an average time spent of 2 minutes and 29 seconds which is considered good. The most visited pages are online payments and news related pages. The redesigned website will have a new layout with dynamic highlighting on graphics and will categorize news articles and events sections.
  • Google Fiber Franchise Agreement: The council approved a franchise agreement with Google Fiber to bring high-speed internet to Fort Mill. This is a major win for the town, as it will provide residents and businesses with access to faster and more reliable internet service.
  • Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Adoption Calendar: The council adopted the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Adoption Calendar. This calendar outlines the timeline for the budget adoption process.
  • Public Comments: There were no public comments during the meeting.
