In anticipation of the upcoming solar eclipse, York County libraries have announced that they will be offering free ISO certified Solar Eclipse Glasses starting today, Monday, April 1. This initiative, aimed at ensuring residents can safely enjoy the celestial spectacle, will allow individuals to pick up the glasses at any York county library location.
To ensure that as many families as possible can benefit from this opportunity, there is a limit of two glasses per family, and the offer is only valid while supplies last. The distribution of these safety glasses has been made possible through a grant from STAR Net’s Science-Technology Activities and Resources for Libraries (SEAL) initiative. This effort underscores the importance of safe viewing practices during solar eclipses, protecting eyes from the harmful effects of staring directly at the sun.
The community is encouraged to take advantage of this offer promptly, as the glasses are expected to be in high demand. By providing these ISO certified glasses, York County libraries not only facilitate a unique educational opportunity for individuals and families but also promote community health and safety in alignment with scientific standards.
