Kennedy Keskey, a Fort Mill High School freshman, earned first place honors March 17th at the Brandywine Springs South Stables’ Spring Fling horse show. Kennedy placed first in the “Open Walk/Trot/Canter Equitation” event in her first show representing Meadowdale Farms in Lancaster County. She rode Magnum, a Hanoverian horse.
Equitation events judge solely on the ability of the rider to show her horse. Kennedy and Magnum were evaluated on their communication and the rider’s effect on the horse while executing a pattern around the show ring.
Kennedy will continue to grow her show experience and serve as the head counselor at PonyGang Equestrian Service’s summer camps this summer. She is also a member of Fort Mill High School’s Future Farmers of America and Fort Mill’s 4-H Club.
