Fort Mill, SC (Tega Cay Sun) – Please be informed that on Thursday, August 3, starting at 11 p.m. and lasting until the early morning hours of Friday, August 4, the City of Rock Hill will be conducting a replacement of its master water meter. This replacement is part of the City of Rock Hill’s water supply operations, which provide water to the Town of Fort Mill, and subsequently to its customers.
During this period, the water meter replacement work is expected to take approximately three hours. To ensure preparedness for the water outage resulting from this process, the Town of Fort Mill will fill all water storage facilities beforehand.
To minimize any inconveniences Fort Mill requests that you reduce your water usage by turning off all irrigation systems on Thursday night leading into Friday morning. The majority of irrigation systems are scheduled to operate during night hours, and this collective usage could exert significant strain on the system during the outage.
While the work is underway, some customers may experience a temporary drop in water pressure, and there is a possibility of air or discoloration in the water lines following the replacement. To address these issues, customers can run their cold taps for a few minutes once the work is completed.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the town of Fort Mill at (803) 547-7158.
