Catawba Ridge rallied after an early 1-0 deficit, with Bryce Meil pitching a complete game, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out five. The Copperheads offense exploded for 12 hits. Catawba Ridge will now face the Berkeley Stags (20-10), who are on a nine-game win streak, in a best-of-three series for the state title. Game 1 is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27 in Berkeley, with Game 2 at Catawba Ridge on Thursday, May 29, and a potential Game 3 at a neutral site on Saturday, May 31.
