Fort Mill High School Track Teams Excel at Clash of the Carolinas

On March 8, 2025, Fort Mill High School’s track teams delivered commendable performances at the Clash of the Carolinas meet, held at Cuthbertson High School in Waxhaw, North Carolina. The event featured 39 teams from both North and South Carolina.

Girls’ Team Achievements:

  • Overall Placement: The Fort Mill girls’ team secured second place, finishing behind host Cuthbertson High School.
  • 4×800-Meter Relay: The team clinched first place with a time of 9:38.78, setting a new meet record.
  • Long Jump: Mia Williams won the event with a leap of 17 feet, 7.5 inches.
  • Additional Top Finishers:
    • 100-Meter Dash: Mia Williams placed sixth with a time of 12.30 seconds.
    • 1600-Meter Run:
      • Alivia Cleveland secured third place, clocking in at 5:11.48.
      • Kaylee Rovenstine finished fourth with a time of 5:12.87.
    • 3200-Meter Run:
      • Ella Demmerle finished third with a time of 11:29.73.
      • Mia Zook secured seventh place with a time of 11:51.26.
      • Avery Moriarty finished eighth, recording a time of 11:55.02.

Boys’ Team Achievements:

  • Overall Placement: The Fort Mill boys’ team finished 13th in the competition.
  • 4×800-Meter Relay: The team emerged victorious with a time of 8:03.88, also setting a new meet record.
  • Notable Individual Performances:
    • 400-Meter Dash: Wyatt Gremillion secured ninth place with a time of 50.68 seconds.
    • 800-Meter Run: Connor Demmerle finished fifth, clocking in at 1:59.46.
    • 3200-Meter Run:
      • Hudson Haley achieved fourth place with a time of 9:50.93.
      • Owen Ware secured 10th place, recording a time of 10:05.60.

These results highlight the dedication and skill of Fort Mill High School’s athletes, underscoring their strong presence in regional track and field events.
