Fury 325 Tests Runs Have Begun

Charlotte, NC – Carowinds amusement park seems to be conducting test runs on its renowned Fury 325 roller coaster, several weeks after its closure due to a crack in one of its support beams. The discovery of the crack, captured in a video on June 30, led to the immediate and indefinite closure of the ride. Live videos of the Fury show the test runs in progress.

As reported last week, a replacement beam arrived at the park and was promptly installed. Carowinds officials had previously stated that following the installation of the new beam, the ride would undergo a minimum of 500 test runs before it could be reopened to the public. Once the test runs are completed, the ride’s manufacturer and an independent testing firm will conduct a final inspection to ensure its readiness for service.

The reopening process of the Fury roller coaster has involved the North Carolina Department of Labor, who has emphasized that the ride will remain closed until it is thoroughly assessed for passenger safety, regardless of how long it takes.

Although test runs have now commenced, the exact duration of the entire process remains uncertain.
