York County Sheriff’s Office Accepting Applications for 2025 Citizens Academy

YORK COUNTY, SC—The York County Sheriff’s Office is currently taking applications for the 2025 Citizen’s Police Academy. The academy will consist of seven sessions on Monday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 at the Moss Justice Center in York and other YCSO facilities. The classes will begin on February 10th, 2025, and end with a formal graduation on March 31th, 2025.

The Citizens’ Police Academy will introduce participants to the various functions of the York County Sheriff’s Office and feature instruction by staff from the different divisions. The goal of the Citizen’s Academy is to create meaningful partnerships with the citizens of York County and give the Sheriff’s Office the ability to serve our citizens better and more efficiently through the open exchange of knowledge and communication.

The Citizens’ Police Academy class is open to adults 18 years of age and older and is provided free of charge. The class size is limited to the first 30 approved applicants.

Applications will be accepted through January 13th, 2025, or until the class is filled, whichever comes first. Applications are available at the York County Sheriff’s Office website, www.yorkcountysheriff.com.
