York County 101: Explore County Government with the Citizens Academy

York County is inviting residents to participate in York County 101: Citizens Academy, a free program designed to provide an in-depth look at the county’s government and its daily operations. This engaging academy offers participants a unique opportunity to learn about departmental functions, operational procedures, and the essential services that keep York County running smoothly.

Each session will introduce a variety of topics, offering an overview of the county’s operations and providing a platform for open communication between participants and county staff. Through tours, presentations, and discussions, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of how local government works.

The program is open to York County residents aged 18 and older and is held annually over a nine-month period, from February to October. Classes typically take place on the third Thursday of each month, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Cost: Free
  • Eligibility: York County residents 18 years or older
  • Class Size: Limited to 25 participants, first come-first served
  • Schedule: Monthly sessions, February to October
