The Fort Mill School District has once again proven itself to be the best in South Carolina, according to the 2025 rankings by Niche.com. The district was named the #1 Best School District in the state, as well as the best in the Charlotte metro area. Additionally, Fort Mill’s teachers were recognized as the second-best in South Carolina, highlighting their commitment to providing top-notch education. The district was also rated as the best place to teach in the Charlotte area and recognized as having the best teachers in the Charlotte area.
In the elementary school category, Fort Mill School District dominated with the top 10 public elementary schools in the state. Gold Hill Elementary led the way as the best in South Carolina, followed closely by Tega Cay, Pleasant Knoll, and Kings Town Elementary, which claimed the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
