Teen Charged After Incident Involving Golf Cart and SUV That Left Another Teen Dead

Rock Hill, SC – Charges have been filed against a 16-year-old driver involved in a tragic accident last month that resulted in the death of 15-year-old Marlie Sullivan. The incident occurred on July 25th on Laurel Creek Drive, between India Hook and Twin Lakes.

According to the Rock Hill Police Department, the teenager was driving a Honda CRV when the vehicle collided with a golf cart carrying six people. The collision occurred near a curve, with the CRV reportedly being in the wrong lane at the time of impact. The force of the crash caused the golf cart to flip over, tragically killing Sullivan at the scene.

In a recent release, Rock Hill PD confirmed that the 16-year-old boy has been charged with reckless homicide. The police stated that “the speed of the car at the time of the crash showed reckless disregard for the safety of others.” Due to the driver’s age, authorities have not released his identity.
