One of the eleven samples indicated the presence of E. coli in an extremely small section of our water system. Until repeat sampling confirms the contamination by Thursday, July 11, customers are advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
Use bottled water or boiled water that has cooled for:
- Drinking
- Brushing teeth
- Washing fruits and vegetables
- Preparing food and baby formula

- Giving to pets
The advisory is in effect until Tega Cay and the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) are confident there is no longer a public health concern. We will provide the next update by 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Customers will be notified immediately when the advisory is lifted.
