Fort Mill Dominates Region 3-5A Swim Meet, Secures Boys’ and Girls’ Titles

ROCK HILL, SC – Fort Mill High School’s Yellow Jackets delivered a dominant performance at the Region 3-5A swim meet on Saturday, sweeping both the boys’ and girls’ championships. The meet, held at the Rock Hill Aquatics Center, saw Fort Mill score an impressive 430 points in each division, securing decisive victories and showcasing their depth and talent. This is the 16th year in a row they have won the regional championships.

Key individual performances were central to Fort Mill’s triumph. Turner Wiand led the boys’ team with two victories, winning the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke. Dominic Impens also captured two individual titles, taking the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke. In other standout swims, Adrian Paredes won the boys’ 200-yard individual medley, while Ava Corbi triumphed in the girls’ 100-yard freestyle. Lila Hadley added to the success, winning the girls’ 100-yard breaststroke.

Fort Mill’s Individual Champions:

  • Turner Wiand: boys’ 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke
  • Dominic Impens: boys’ 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke
  • Adrian Paredes: boys’ 200-yard individual medley
  • Ava Corbi: girls’ 100-yard freestyle
  • Lila Hadley: girls’ 100-yard breaststroke

Fort Mill’s relay teams were equally impressive, playing a significant role in the overall success.  The boys won the 200 yard medley relay and the 400 yard free relay,  while the girls won the 400 yard free relay.  Their strong showings in these team events underscored the program’s depth and cohesion, contributing crucial points to both the boys’ and girls’ victories.

With the regional championships secured, Fort Mill now turns its focus to the state meet, where they aim to continue their dominant run and attempt to defend their state titles. The full meet results are available here.
