(Updated at 9:55 a.m. Sept. 17.)

“Due to the confidential nature of personnel matters, the district is unable to provide specific details at this time,” Joe Burke, chief communications officer for the Fort Mill School District, said. “However, we can confirm that Coach Michael Allen has resigned from his position, effective immediately. Assistant Coach Jason McManus has been appointed as Interim Head Coach for the remainder of the season. The school will determine the next steps regarding the coaching vacancy in the coming months.”

(Updated at 8:00 p.m. Sept. 16.)

Coach Michael Allen allegedly turned in his resignation today as the Nation Ford head football coach. No details were made public other than Allen made the decision for “personal reasons.” Principal Chris Chandler sent an email to football families today that more details would be announced Tuesday. However, it’s expected that the team’s offensive coordinator, Jason McManus, will serve as interim head coach through the end of the season.

The Falcon’s are 1-2 on the season and open their Region 3-5A schedule this week with a road trip to Rock Hill’s Northwestern High School.

Recently the school’s athletic director, Dave Johnson, also resigned after nearly two years in the role.
