In an impressive show of athleticism and teamwork, the Gold Hill Middle School Girls Track Team concluded their season undefeated, clinching the Fort Mill Athletic Conference Championships. The event, which showcased young talents from several middle schools, was dominated by Gold Hill’s outstanding performers across various track and field events. Gold Hill finished with three first place wins in the individual events and two relays wins. But it was Gold Hill’s depth that secured the conference championships. 20 girls qualified for the conference championships and with points award thru sixth place, every finish mattered. In addition to their wins, the girls scored three 2nd places, three 3rd places, four 4th places, three 5th places, and five 6th places finishes, leading to a commanding 40 point victory.
Stellar Individual Performances
Reagan Hyslip led the charge winning the 400m in an impressive 1:02.50 and taking 3rd in the 200m. Her talents shone brightly as she also contributed to first-place finishes in both the 800m sprint medley relay and the 4x400m relay. Lauren Pak followed with strong placements, securing 2nd in the 100m dash with a time of 13.04 seconds and 4th in the 400m at 1:03.58. She also clinched 2nd place in the 200m, clocking in at 27.33 seconds.
In the long jump, Olivia Richardson leaped to a 1st place finish with a jump of 15 feet 2 inches, while Trinity Mitchell followed closely in 2nd place at 14 feet and 11.75 inches. The discus event saw Addison Feinour dominate with a throw of 80 feet 1 inch, leading her to take the top spot and Alexis Peters securing 3rd place with a throw of 76 feet and 3 inches. Addison Feinour also placed third in the shot put with a throw of 32 feet and 6.5 inches.
Relay Races Highlight Teamwork
The teamwork was particularly evident in the relay events, with Gold Hill capturing first in both the 800m sprint medley relay and the 4x400m relay. The 4x100m relay team also performed well, earning a 4th place finish, demonstrating the depth and breadth of talent within the team.
Overwhelming Team Victory
Gold Hill not only shone in individual and relay events but also topped the overall team scores significantly, amassing 122 points. This was a substantial lead over the second-placed Fort Mill Middle School, which scored 82 points.

While the girls’ team at Gold Hill Middle School celebrated an undefeated season, the boys’ team faced stiff competition in the Fort Mill Athletic Conference Championships, finishing fifth overall. Despite not leading the scoreboard, the boys displayed commendable efforts and potential across various events.
Individual Highlights
The boys’ team had notable individual performances, particularly in field events. Michael Tillman excelled in the high jump, securing 2nd place with a jump of 5 feet 6 inches, closely followed by Greyson Love who claimed 3rd place with 5 feet 5 inches. In the discus throw, Hudson Maxwell performed well, landing 5th place with a throw of 106 feet 8 inches.
On the track, Aiden O’Hara showed his sprinting prowess by finishing 5th in the 200m dash with a time of 25.26 seconds. Chris Kohr also highlighted his endurance capabilities by placing 6th in the 1600m with a time of 5:08.63 and 8th in the 800m at 2:21.59.
