Carowinds Announces Temporary Closure for Winter Months in 2024

Carowinds will close for January and February 2024, reversing its earlier decision to operate year-round.

The park will close on January 1, 2024, the final day of Winterfest, and reopen on March 9, 2024.

About Carowinds.

Carowinds is a 407-acre amusement park and water park located on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina, between Charlotte, North Carolina, and Fort Mill, South Carolina. Owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, Carowinds opened to the public on March 31, 1973.

Carowinds is home to over 60 rides and attractions, including 14 roller coasters. The park’s most popular roller coasters include Fury 325, the world’s tallest and fastest giga coaster, and Intimidator, a hypercoaster that reaches speeds of up to 80 miles per hour.
