Tega Cay, SC – June 7, 2025 – The Tega Cay Men’s Golf Association’s prestigious President’s Cup teed off today under ideal conditions, setting the stage for what promises to be a captivating two-day tournament. The Tega Cay golf course was in excellent shape, with greens running fast and true, offering a stern but fair challenge to the field.
Despite the course playing tough, several golfers rose to the occasion, delivering impressive scores. As Day One concludes, a tight race has emerged at the top of the leaderboard. Brandon Fender, Todd Moore, and Kevin Eberle all share the overall lead, each carding a stellar Net -1 (71). Their exceptional play has put them in prime position heading into the final round.
In Flight 1, Brandon Fender and Kevin Eberle are tied for the lead at Net 71 (-1). Hot on their heels is Tom Hyslip, who finished Day One at Net 72 (Even). A trio of golfers – Adam Byerly, JT Sutton, and Doug McGowan – are tied for fourth in the flight, all at Net 73 (+1), just two strokes back from the lead.
Flight 2 saw Todd Moore claim the top spot with a Net 71 (-1). Dan Manes sits in second with a Net 72 (Even), followed by Chris Lounsbury at Net 73 (+1). Dale Eberle rounds out the top four in Flight 2 with a Net 74 (+2).
The day also featured some spectacular individual shots. In Gross Skins, JT Sutton aced Hole 1 with an eagle, and Greg Scott birdied Hole 7. On the Net Skins side, JT Sutton (Hole 1), Kevin Eberle (Hole 2), Greg Scott (Hole 7), Dale Eberle (Hole 14), and Mike McCarthy (Hole 16) all recorded eagles.
Looking ahead to Sunday’s final round, the competition is incredibly tight. With 16 players within five strokes of the lead, the President’s Cup is truly anyone’s game. Day Two will undoubtedly prove to be a significant challenge, with the ultimate prize of a reserved parking spot and coveted bragging rights on the line.
