Scheffler Captures PGA Championship

Scottie Scheffler stood tall Sunday, hoisting the Wanamaker Trophy after a commanding PGA Championship victory at Quail Hollow Club. The world’s top-ranked golfer navigated a briefly challenging final round to card an even-par 71, securing his third career major championship by a comfortable five strokes over Harris English, Bryson DeChambeau, and Davis Riley. What initially seemed like a straightforward path to victory took a detour as Scheffler made the turn, finding himself tied with Spain’s Jon Rahm in the afternoon.

However, the back nine at Quail Hollow once again proved to be Scheffler’s domain. He surged ahead with birdies on Nos. 11, 14, and 15, while Rahm faltered spectacularly on the treacherous “Green Mile,” the course’s final three holes. As Scheffler sank his final putt, a wave of emotion washed over him, his arms raised in triumph as the crowd roared his name.

At just 28 years old, Scheffler joins an elite group, becoming only the third player since World War II, alongside Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, to win 15 PGA Tour events and three majors before turning 29. His five-stroke margin of victory tied for the fourth-largest in PGA Championship history. While Rahm briefly pulled even, his late collapse, including a double-bogey on the 17th after finding the water, allowed Scheffler to cruise to a decisive and redemptive major championship triumph.
