Buc-ee’s, the beloved Texas-based travel center known for its massive stores, pristine restrooms, and signature Beaver Nuggets, is expanding its footprint across the United States. Among the upcoming locations, North Carolina is set to welcome its first Buc-ee’s in Mebane, marking a significant milestone for the Tar Heel State.
North Carolina’s First Buc-ee’s: Mebane
The Mebane Buc-ee’s will be situated along Trollingwood-Hawfields Road near the intersection of Interstates 40 and 85. Spanning approximately 75,400 square feet, this mega travel center will feature 120 fueling stations and over 20 electric vehicle charging spots. The facility is expected to create around 225 full-time jobs upon opening.
Before construction can commence, necessary roadway improvements, including widening Trollingwood-Hawfields Road and extending interstate exits and entrances, must be completed. These infrastructure projects are anticipated to take about 18 months. Consequently, the Mebane Buc-ee’s is projected to open in late 2026 or early 2027.
Other Upcoming Buc-ee’s Locations
In addition to Mebane, Buc-ee’s has announced several new locations across the country:
- Harrison County, Mississippi: Set to open in May 2025, this 74,000-square-foot store will include 120 fueling stations, 24 EV charging spots, and a car wash.
- Brunswick, Georgia: Scheduled for a June 2025 opening, this will be Georgia’s largest Buc-ee’s at 74,000 square feet, featuring 120 fueling stations.
- Rockingham County, Virginia: Expected to open in 2025, this location will serve travelers along Interstate 81.
- Boerne, Texas: Slated for a 2026 opening, expanding Buc-ee’s presence in its home state.
- Goodyear, Arizona: Marking Buc-ee’s first foray into the western U.S., this 74,000-square-foot store is anticipated to open in June 2026.
- Huber Heights, Ohio: Projected to open in 2026, continuing Buc-ee’s expansion into the Midwest.
