Nation Ford’s momentum from a decisive victory earlier in the week hit a snag Friday as the Falcons fell just short to the Woodmont Wildcats in a 5-4 softball matchup. The loss marks the second time this season that Nation Ford (17-10) has been unable to overcome Woodmont. The Wildcats (23-6) previously defeated the Falcons 10-4 last Wednesday and have now extended their winning streak to five games. Neither team currently has any future games scheduled.
Across town, TL Hanna’s baseball team secured a 6-4 road victory over Catawba Ridge Friday night, forcing a winner-take-all district championship game on Saturday at 6 p.m. Brayden Stuart led the charge for TL Hanna, driving in three runs, including a pivotal two-run single in the sixth inning that gave his team the lead. Seth Manning pitched a complete game for Hanna, striking out eight Catawba Ridge batters.
