Back in February, the Tega Cay Sun shared the inspiring story of Kelsey McGuire, a 21-year-old student at the University of Georgia and former Tega Cay resident, who was preparing to run the Boston Marathon to raise funds and awareness for cancer research. We are now delighted to report on Kelsey’s remarkable achievement. Kelsey successfully completed the Boston Marathon, not only crossing the finish line but also surpassing her ambitious goal. She finished the race with an impressive time of 3 hours and 6 minutes, a testament to her dedication and training. Adding to her success on the course, Kelsey also reached and exceeded her fundraising target of $4,000. This significant accomplishment was made possible in part by the generous support of many individuals within the Tega Cay and Fort Mill community, who rallied behind her cause.
