Festivalgoers at Fort Mill’s South Carolina Strawberry Festival should be aware of a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms today, particularly in the afternoon and evening.

While the day is expected to begin partly sunny with temperatures reaching near 82 degrees Fahrenheit, the likelihood of showers and potentially strong thunderstorms will increase after 3 p.m. and continue through the evening.

South winds are expected around 7 to 10 mph, with gusts reaching up to 22 mph. Attendees are advised to secure any lightweight belongings.

Tonight, storms are forecast to persist into the early morning hours, with the possibility of heavy rainfall, especially before 5 a.m. Rainfall amounts could total up to an inch. Motorists traveling late should exercise caution as patchy fog may develop around 11 p.m. to midnight.

Festival organizers are encouraging attendees to monitor weather updates, seek shelter if storms approach, and remain alert for any festival-related announcements. The safety of attendees is the top priority. While the festival remains open, individuals are urged to stay weather-aware and enjoy the festivities responsibly.
