FORT MILL, S.C. — The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets softball team extended its losing streak to seven games Tuesday, falling 9-5 to the Clover Blue Eagles.
The defeat marked the second time this season Fort Mill (3-8) has lost to Clover, following a 5-1 decision last Thursday.
Elaina Hildebrand pitched a complete game for the Yellow Jackets, lasting seven innings. She surrendered eight hits, resulting in four earned runs and five unearned runs.
The victory was the third consecutive win for Clover, improving their record to 11-7 on the season.
Fort Mill looks to break the skid on the road Wednesday when they face Cuthbertson at 6 p.m. Clover returns home to host Northwestern at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Fort Mill sits at 3-8 overall and 2-6 in Region 3-5A.
